STORM THE STAGE ACADEMY TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Students must attend their lessons punctually and with a minimum of 90% attendance.
Students must attend class dressed appropriately wearing the correct uniform, this is for health and safety reasons.
Student must reorder uniform that has been lost or damaged immediately.
No jewelry is to be worn in class.
Students are expected to take part in performances and open classes, prior notice will always be given.
Storm the Stage Academy does not accept responsibility for any damage or loss of property while on the premises.
It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to notify the Principal/admin team of any illness or injury that may affect your child’s participation at classes.
It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure that we have the correct contact details for you and the student. This must be updated when any changes occur, this is essential for safeguarding of your child.
Lessons are timetabled on a termly basis, all parents/guardians are expected to check the timetable for the changes at the end of term. 3 terms per the year, we are following the Haringey academic calendar.
All fees are payable strictly by the first day of the month for 11 months (September-July). payments can be made by direct debit.
With the exception of new students enrolling during term time, no deductions can be made for missed classes.
Half a term’s notice in writing is required for students wishing to leave the academy. Any students leaving the academy must give the correct notice period or they will be liable for the following month’s fees.
Any medication for the student needed onsite as indicated on your registration form must be handed in to the Principal or admin team. This must be clearly labelled with child’s name and dosage requirements.
In the event that classes/shows have to be put on hold due to restrictions imposed by the government (national or local), all fees will be held and transferred to subsequent classes upon reopening. These will not be refunded.
In the event that classes/shows have to be put on hold due to unforeseen circumstances out of our control all fees will be deducted as normal. These will not be credited or refunded.
All students are required to pay an annual membership fee each year. This is payable every year regardless where you start in the year.
PHYSICAL CORRECTION
Please note, there may be times when teachers in the school use physical intervention to ensure the safe and effective teaching of dance/ acrobatic technique (e.g. to adjust arm lines, to support a student’s weight when in motion).
The Principal monitors the level of physical correction on a regular basis. If a parent/guardian is unhappy with this teaching technique, their concerns must be raised with the Principal immediately. The Principal will make a record of the concerns and will ensure that appropriate action is taken where necessary. Please note all Storm the Stage staff members hold a valid enhanced DBS check and have the relevant safeguarding training.
By agreeing to this, you are giving Storm the Stage Academy permission to seek medical services in case of serious injury or illness. Parents and guardians understand that Storm the Stage Academy, Marie-Reine Bouchereau, employees and/or contractors will not assume responsibility for any lost or stolen property, or for any bodily or personal injury consisting of or arising out of any participation in any physical training or athletic activity.
FIRST AID
Storm the Stage has several staff members that are trained first aiders. It is understood that first aid will be administered to students when deemed necessary and accidents and injuries recorded in the accident book. In the case of an emergency, and if the parent/guardian is absent, it is understood that teachers will act in loco parentis where necessary. An ambulance will be called, and the parents/guardians contacted.
To comply with the UK Data Protection Act, your permission is needed before we can use an image or any near likeliness of your child. No image or likeliness will be used without your permission.
By agreeing to our terms and conditions you give permission as the parent or guardian for the likeliness to be used for the purposes of Storm the Stage Academy’s’ internal and external publications, newsletter, social media platforms and website.
